ARERA's resolution 541/2020/R/EEL describes the general terms of this innovative trial, whose operational management has been entrusted to Gestore dei Servizi Energetici (GSE).
From 1 July 2021 to 31 December 2025, it will be possible to recharge electric vehicles with a power of around 6 kW, at night, on Sundays and other public holidays, without having to request a power increase from the electricity supplier, and therefore without having to pay any additional fixed cost due to the increase in power.
The aim of this trial is to promote a 'smart' recharging of electric vehicles in a way that is compatible with the characteristics of existing electricity grids, exploiting the potential offered by the most advanced electronic meters and recharging devices, i.e. capable of adjusting the recharging speed on the basis of commands provided by external actors (e.g. aggregators or the local distributor, subject to authorisation by the customer), or automatically.
